In the evening, you will find your camel ready to take you into the glorious sunset on an unforgettable ninety-minute camel trek across the shifting sands of the Sahara Desert. Then, to your camp. After a relaxing and wondering time, get ready for your dinner and an amazing party at the fire square under the delightful sky and finally to your sweet night.
- Day 3: Merzouga Desert to Ouarzazate via Rissani, Erfoud, Todra Gorges, Dades valley, and Rose valley:
Early start at 8 am, as you wake up to experience the splendor of the sunrise over the sand dunes and have our breakfast to take your camel back to the hotel and notice the shifting and changing shadows cast by the dunes, lengthening and narrowing as the day progresses, the journey to Ouarzazate begins with a drive through the 300-meter deep canyon of the Todgha Gorges, which runs through the eastern end of the High Atlas Mountains, near the village of Tinghir. The Tinghir and Todgha Gorges are the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. Next, you will head to the fertile oasis of Skoura, surrounded by huge palm trees and with breathtaking views of the mighty Atlas Mountains.
Next, you will have the opportunity to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Taourirt Kasbah, a remarkably preserved and charming place that showcases the best of traditional Moroccan architecture and is highly appreciated by tourists and locals alike. Finally, you will end the day with an evening arrival in Ouarzazate, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a hotel.
- Day 4: From Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, and High Atlas mountains:
After a hearty breakfast, have fun exploring the film sets and studios of Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, whose stunning landscapes and topography have attracted some of the world’s leading filmmakers and directors to take advantage of the scenery. These are the most famous and largest film studios on the entire African continent. You can visit the studio museum, where you can inspect props and other memorabilia from films such as Babel, The Mummy, and Hideous Kinky, as well as the popular TV series Game of Thrones, all of which were filmed here.
Later, you can visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s largest Kasbah, which is a timeless ancient village often used as a backdrop for more than twenty Hollywood films, including Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones, and Gladiator. Take a pleasant stroll to examine the traditional Moroccan architecture that makes up the kasbah, now home to the Glaoui family.
This central region of the country is vibrant, exciting, and surely one of Morocco’s most romantic, nestled between fertile green river valleys with their sprawling palm groves and burnished red brick houses toasting in the hot Moroccan sun with dazzling colors under a blue sky. Then it’s time to continue the journey, through the stunning Tizi N’tichka Pass, more than two and a half kilometers above sea level, over winding and curvy mountain roads, dotted with picturesque Berber villages and crystal clear waterfalls, until you reach Marrakech. Excellent experience
I had been wanting to visit Morocco for so long that I wanted my first vacation to be utterly unforgettable. After researching several possibilities, I came across Desert Merzouga Tours, and from the first contact, their personnel were patient and happy to offer you with various options that suit your preferences and plans.
Simply fantastic. We reserved a 4-day trip packed with fun, adventures, and emotion for a very reasonable price! The nicest part is riding a camel into the Sahara desert and spending the night in a desert luxury camp. We had a fantastic night in the desert beneath the stars and attempted sandboarding around sunset. The accommodations on this tour exceeded our expectations, especially the desert camp.
Thank you Desert Merzouga Tours for looking after us so well and making our trip to Morocco so memorable!!
4 days/3 nights in Morocco
Our trip with Desert Merzouga Tours was definitely unforgettable.
Hamid is a fantastic guide who is very helpful with his knowledge. He will go out of his way to accommodate your needs. He is really a wonderful person.
The hotels on the road were fantastic, and the restaurants where we ate were excellent and reasonably priced. We are overjoyed to have met such wonderful folks. We want to return to Morocco soon and take a new tour with Desert Merzouga Tours.
Amazing Tour Company - We highly recommend!
We arranged a four-day private tour with this wonderful company. Hassan, the manager, was incredibly friendly and helpful from the start.
Everything we had planned worked out perfectly. Lhoucine, our driver and tour guide, was constantly cheerful and knowledgeable about every location we visited.
We highly recommend staying overnight at a desert camp, visiting a nomadic family in the desert, and taking a camel ride across the dunes. All of the rooms are fantastic, and the food is great. I’ll be back!!!
