  • Day 6: Travel from Fes to Merzouga desert via Ifrane, Cedar Forest, and Erfoud:

The sixth day of the 10 days Morocco tour from Casablanca departs from Fez at 8 am, passing through Ifrane, where the houses have sloping roofs, something remarkable and unusual in Morocco. This is to cope with the annual snowfall. Near Azrou, at 1250m, with the geomorphological Berber name meaning “stone” or “rock”, you can see Barbary monkeys in the oak and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. From here we drive south on the N13 over the Middle Atlas, passing through Timahdite. We arrive in Midelt, 1508M, called “the apple capital” of Morocco and situated at the foot of the Ayachi Mountain.

The city is the agricultural commercial center of the surrounding area. It is also one of the main Moroccan cities for the extraction of various minerals, such as fluorite, vanadinite, quartz, and cerussite. We continue south, crossing the Tizi-n-Talghemt pass, known as the “camel” pass. We descend through the Ziz valley, known above all for its palm trees and the extent of the oasis.

Along the road, there are countless “ksars”, small villages of individual houses. From here, we reach the mining town of Er Rachidia (e.g. copper and malachite) and then Erfoud, famous for its date festival and fossils. It is fascinating to see how these millions of fossils have been transformed into artifacts, and the shops are well worth a visit. Continue to Rissani and finally to the famous red dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. A camel ride of between an hour and an hour and a half from or to the camp. Dinner and overnight in a luxury camp with a private bathroom, king-size beds, beautiful Moroccan furniture, and lamps tastefully arranged to enjoy the silence and beauty of the dunes.

Enjoy your breakfast at the camp and hop on your camel for the return to the lodge to meet your driver. The itinerary will take us to the Todra Gorges to enjoy the wonderful views of its canyons as we walk through them. We will travel through Berber villages and palm trees. A  break for lunch in a local restaurant. We will cross the administrative town of Boumalen to reach the Dades Gorges, where our journey will end in a charming hotel. Dinner and overnight.

  • Day 8: Dades Valley to Marrakech via Ouarzazate, Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, and High Atlas mountains:

After breakfast, we travel along the Valley of Roses where farmers harvest around 400 tons of rose petals processed into perfumes, creams, and soaps. A festival is held here in May. Passing through Skoura. Stop for a panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas film studios. Afterward, we will visit the World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, as it has been named by UNESCO. Leave the Kasbah and start heading towards the majestic Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass of Tizi Tichka at 2260m offering breathtaking views of the valleys, mountains, and many Berber villages nearby. Arrive in Marrakech at sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel or Riad.

  • Day 9: Guided tour sightseeing Marrakech:

In the morning guided a tour of Marrakech, which gave Morocco its name. Marrakech is a spectacular city, where there is a permanent party as you can see in the famous DJema el Fna Square, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, which for several centuries has been the most incredible popular theatre in the world: snake charmers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, pythonesses, actors, fortune tellers… But you cannot forget that its destiny is linked to that of the different dynasties that have succeeded one another, as well as its tradition as a political, economic, and cultural metropolis that has always dominated the history of the Maghreb. In Marrakech, there are plenty of places to visit, the university, known as Medersa Ben Youssef, the Menara Gardens, the Majorelle Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, and the Badi Palace. Dinner and overnight at the same hotel or Riad.

Fantastic Morocco Trip!!!

Desert Merzouga Tours created a fantastic 10 days Morocco tour from Casablanca for my husband and me. We were greeted at the airport by a very lovely driver, Lhoucine, who was more than just a driver because he made our trip so memorable as we traveled over the nation in a luxury van. We traveled through the Rif and Atlas mountains, stopping in Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Asilah, Chefchaoen, and Marrakech, and spent one-night glamping in the Sahara Desert, including camel riding. The other nights were spent in extremely good riads and a guest house that included breakfast and some that included lunch and dinner. The guest house has two swimming pools and a hot tub, and it provides an excellent dinner in a lovely setting. Our driver, Lhoucine, allowed us to stop in a variety of locations to photograph the breathtaking beauty – valleys, mountains, plains, rivers, oceans, cities, and villages. The Berber people’s visits to fossil mines, argon oil manufacturing, and carpet making were breathtaking. We will definitely return to Morocco and use the Desert Merzouga trips again. It was wonderful to have a trip planned out with attractions, guides, lodging, and transportation that was flexible.

Excellent guides, highly recommend

We had a fantastic time traveling through Morocco in a private car with Aziz and Ali as our guides/drivers (from Casablanca to Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, the Sahara Desert, Dades, Ourazazete, Marrakech, and back to Casablanca). They were wonderfully attentive, amusing, and constantly willing to accommodate our wishes (including our preference for very early starts). The highlight, though, was their Berber hospitality and the opportunity to learn about their culture.

I highly recommend Aziz and Ali to transport and show you about Morocco. The automobile was really comfortable, and we always felt safe and well-cared for.

I would also propose going to the Sahara desert if you have the time to spend a night beneath the stars and listening to Berber music around the fire:)
Thank you for an unforgettable trip!!!

Best Morocco tour with D.M.T

We had an excellent journey with Desert Merzouga Tours from Casablanca for 10 days Morocco tour from Casablanca. We had many fabulous experiences in many fantastic places like Hassan 2 mosque, Chefchaouen the blue city where we took gorgeous images, and the quiet was the most important thing we gained. After that, we went to the Roman site Volubiles and had a lovely lunch in Meknes, where we discovered the magnificence of its architecture (walls, palaces, prison, large pool, and notable gates such as bab Mensor). Fes was a great experience for an old city trip; we loved the traditional handicrafts, etc.

After the imperial towns, we traveled to the desert, where we had wonderful memories, good camp, lovely camels, sand dunes and gorgeous of Todgha, as well as the high atlas snake roads…
The accommodations were so good, and the people were so nice and helpful that we felt like we were all part of one big family. Lhoucine was our driving guide, and he is a wonderful person.

I wholeheartedly suggest 100% Desert Merzouga Tours for their excellent service and fantastic lodgings.
