About Desert Merzouga Tours
We are a team of young Moroccans from the south, guides and drivers who grew up between the dunes of Erg Chebbi and the oases of the Tafilalet. We started this company to share the Morocco we love with travellers who want more than a checklist.
That means private tours with no strangers in the car, routes you can change, drivers who know every viewpoint and village, and desert nights hosted by people we have worked with for years. You get honest advice before you book and a real person on the phone while you travel.

Ask Us AnythingMerzouga sits in south-east Morocco, roughly 560 km from Marrakech and 470 km from Fes. Most travellers arrive on one of our private tours, which break the drive into scenic stages through the Atlas Mountains, gorges and oases. If you are already travelling independently, we can meet you in Merzouga village for a camel trek.
Spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November) bring warm days and pleasant nights. Winter is sunny and quiet but nights in the desert can drop close to freezing, so camps provide heavy blankets. Summer is very hot in the afternoon; we adjust the schedule so camel rides happen at sunrise and sunset.
Yes. Every itinerary runs as a private tour with your own driver-guide and vehicle, so you set the pace. The routes on this site are starting points: add a night, skip a stop, upgrade your desert camp or combine two tours, and we will adapt the plan and price to suit you.
In a Berber-style camp among the Erg Chebbi dunes. Choose a mid-range luxury camp, with private tents, en-suite bathrooms, hot showers and comfortable bedding, or a luxury camp where every tent is also equipped with air conditioning and heating. Dinner, breakfast, the camel ride and the evening around the campfire are included.
A small overnight bag is enough, since your main luggage stays safely in the vehicle. Bring a warm layer for the evening, a scarf or cheche to protect against sun and sand, sunglasses, sun cream, a headlamp and closed shoes. We are happy to help you tie a traditional turban before the ride.
