  • Day 1: Travel from Marrakech to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas mountains, and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah:

Departure from Marrakech (Riad or Airport) towards Teoulet, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains where we will enjoy the extraordinary landscapes that these mountains offer us, the colors change from orange to green, the shoulders of the roads are occupied by vendors, and landscape worth seeing, we will cross the mountain pass Tizi’n Tichka, the highest point of this route with 2,260 meters high.

Our first stop will be in Teoulet to visit the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui built on an ancient kasbah of the eighteenth century in order to control the passage of commercial caravans, this palace was expanded using solid stone for its construction, although there are still several rooms that remain in good condition, is impressive contrast that creates the ruined adobe walls with the decorative luxury of the main rooms, tastefully decorated with mosaics, marble, silk tapestries, stucco ceilings, and cedar wood doors, after the view we will eat in the local restaurant of this small kasbah.

After lunch, we will head to Aït Benhaddou (declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco), this fortified kasbah was inhabited by the Ben Haddou tribe until it began to deteriorate, it was when Unesco helped to rehabilitate much of it. Aït Benhaddou is a majestic sand-colored fortification, its interior looks like the set of a movie and it is impressive to wander through it. Its citadel is tiny and consists of narrow cobbled streets and narrow streets that are ascending to reach the top of the fortification, where there are splendid views with the shades of the mountains red and parched. Continue the route to Ouarzazate, which is the intermediate point linking the mountains and the desert where we will spend the night.

  • Day 2: Ouarzazate to Todra Gorges via Dades Valley, and Tinghir:

In the morning after a good Moroccan breakfast we will head towards the Skoura Valley, we will visit the kasbah of Amredil, an imposing kasbah that deserves a visit for the treasures it contains, be surprised by its corners, its small villages, orchards, and olive groves hidden under its huge palm trees, all of the simplicity and suggestive beauty, an ideal place to visit.

We will continue through the Valley of the Roses located at the foot of the High Atlas, as its name suggests is the most important and interesting growing area from the point of view of tourism, with 30 km of uninterrupted cultivation of roses, splendid greenery nestled at the foot of a canyon of ocher tones that offers a spectacle of beauty and is part of the most important sites in Morocco. We will cross the mountains and we will have the opportunity to visit one of the nomadic families living in the caves of the High Atlas where we will be offered a welcome tea and we will enjoy the hospitality of the Berber people, We will continue towards the Dades Gorges with its spectacular scenic views and its architectural value is completed by the various Ksur and numerous kasbah of adobe that we will find as we go, many of them in ruins but still dotted along the narrow valley to admire. We will continue towards Boumalen Dades where we will stop for lunch.

Our route continues towards Tineghir and the impressive gorge of the Todra Gorges, a mandatory stop to contemplate the great canyon, formed by red limestone rock vertical walls and where the last 600 meters of the gorge are the most spectacular, the canyon narrows and happens to have a width of about 10 meters and 300 meters high, a paradise of stone where it houses a river of crystal clear waters and its picturesque setting makes it a must stop. Later on, we will continue to the Sahara desert where we will meet our camel caravan at some point over there, to begin our camel trek toward our camp through the golden sand dunes and have some moments over there to take some pictures of the sunset view. Hence, to our camp in which we will be warmly hosted by a cup of tea and show us our sweet tent.
