A memory for lifetime

We had Morocco on our bucket list for a while, so when the chance to make our dreams come true presented itself, we were both ecstatic and hesitant. It’s a long way from home to Morocco. What about safety? Are they friendly? There might be a language barrier. We arrived at the airport in Casablanca with these uncertainties. We felt confident that we were in good hands as soon as we met our driver/tour guide. At first glance, our guide Addi seemed enthusiastic, eager to assist, and most importantly, she made us feel at home. He was nothing short of an angel on our 15-day trip; from 5 am to 12 am, he was always there and had a cheery smile. When we questioned him, he never showed any signs of annoyance. They were numerous and recurring. Overall, he was a complete joy to be around, and our relationship will, inshallah, endure forever. Again, let’s not forget about Lhoucine, who, despite the fact that he wasn’t physically present with us, was constantly checking in on us to see how we were doing and whether we were having fun. He appeared to be traveling with us. This kind of service cannot be purchased with money, it comes from the goodness and purity of their hearts. I would wholeheartedly advise anyone traveling to Morocco to be in good hands. Finally, I just want to mention that Addi and Lhoucine made the experience even more spectacular.

Morocco, Africa - a powerful private tour at our own pace

Due to Desert Merzouga Tours’ flexibility in letting us determine the itinerary and speed of our 15-day private trip to the Imperial Cities and the Western Sahara, we went with them. After an eternity of lockdowns, the trip marked our return to international holidays and my 60th birthday. Hassan, who served as our local driver and 4WD guide for this 2,200-kilometer round trip, made the experience feel very genuine by introducing a variety of elements from his Berber family heritage and his own unique perspectives to each of the exotic locales. At the end of such lengthy drives, he also prepares a delicious Chicken Tagine and carves a mouthwatering melon. We also decided to spend two nights in each of the major towns of Chefchaouen, Merzouga, Fes, and Marrakech. This gave us time to go on our own walks and see other large bus tour groups of visitors hurrying between each point on their itineraries. We strolled through the marketplaces in Rissani and Fes, followed in the French and Romans’ and sometimes our own lost footsteps, drove a portion of the Paris-Dakkar route, and shared mint tea with nomads. Why rush when you can book a trip with Desert Merzouga Tours that is truly immersive?
