The day and night camel trek in the Merzouga Sahara desert starts around 10:00 a.m., and the camel guide will take you to the golden and undulating sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. Travel through this landscape on the back of a camel, a method of transport across the Sahara that dates back thousands of years, feel the tranquillity of this timeless area as you trek through the dunes to the desert camp. The camel ride usually takes a couple of hours, once you get there, you can relax and have a cup of tea while a delicious lunch is prepared by our staff at the camp. This camel trek to Merzouga is an opportunity to experience how simple and primitive things are enough for nomads.
After a good lunch, you may want to climb the big sand dunes to experience a sandboarding activity, an activity that has become one of the famous activities in the Merzouga desert and Erg Chebbi dunes. In addition, this is a great opportunity to enjoy one of the most spectacular sunsets and take beautiful photographs. It is a truly breathtaking view as the sun’s rays play with the sand dunes changing color to orange as the intensity of the rays diminishes before nightfall, marking the end of an exciting day full of adventure and fun. - Transport from Marrakech to Merzouga desert:
The bus (Supratours) leaves Marrakech to Merzouga every day at 8:00 AM and arrives in Merzouga around 9:00 pm.

The bus (Supratours) leaves Fez to Merzouga every day at 19:00 in the evening and arrives in Merzouga around 06:00.

2- Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
You will not need a sleeping bag on our overnight camel ride for both options (standard and superior), you will stay in the desert camp which provides all the bedding you need, including real beds, pillows, and sufficient blankets.
3- How long does the camel ride in the Sahara last?
On our camel trek to Merzouga and spend a night in the Sahara, we travel there by camel for an authentic Berber experience. The night camel ride lasts about an hour and a half (1h 30min), including a stop to watch the sunset and enjoy sandboarding (if this is an activity you are interested in).
4- What is the difference between the standard and superior desert camp?
- Standard camp: tents are private with shared and separate toilets and showers.
- Superior camp: tents are private with private bathroom, toilet, and hot water inside each tent.
5- Is there a way to spend the night in the desert without using Camels?
Yes, for those who want to spend the night in the Sahara but don't like to ride camels, we offer a transfer to and from the desert camp in our 4WD as an alternative to camels at no extra charge, of course.
6- Is there a place to charge the phone and camera in the Camp?
Yes, no worries during your overnight camel trek in Merzouga at our desert camps, we use solar panels and of course, there is a place where you can charge your phone and camera.
7- What clothes and special items should I bring?
Daytime temperatures in Morocco are generally quite warm. You'll need comfortable, loose-fitting, cool clothing. Evenings tend to be cool, especially in winter, so bring a jacket or light coat.
Desert temperatures vary from cool at night to very hot during the day, but you should cover up to avoid sunburn.
Bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking and sandboarding shoes, such as trainers. Long sleeves and long trousers or skirts are appropriate for the night camel ride in the desert. 8- How to book this camel tour for 1 night?
Book for free! To book any tour, we usually ask for a small deposit to be paid through our Paypal. The rest of the payment is paid in cash to your driver/guide at pick-up.
The deposit payment is free of charge, in case you wish to pay the full amount or half, in order to avoid carrying a lot of cash, it is possible to do so via Paypal.
To pay the full amount by Paypal, there will be an extra 5% to cover Paypal fees.
What is your cancellation policy?
For a full refund, please cancel at least 15 days prior to the activity date. In case you cancel less than 15 days in advance, the deposit is non-refundable, but is still available for use if you reschedule your trip in the future.
