Good to know
Tangier faces Spain across fourteen kilometres of water, and for travellers coming by ferry from Tarifa or Algeciras it is the first step on African soil. It also has an international airport and a high-speed train to Rabat and Casablanca, which makes it an easy place to begin.
Starting in the north means the trip opens with places that many itineraries leave out or rush: the kasbah of Tangier and Cap Spartel, the Andalusian medina of Tetouan and the blue mountain town of Chefchaouen. From there the route runs naturally south to Volubilis, Meknes and Fes.
Beyond Fes lie the cedar forests, the Ziz Valley and the dunes of Erg Chebbi, and then the gorges and kasbahs on the way to Marrakech. Our Tangier tours are one-way journeys, so you never drive the same road twice, and they can finish in Marrakech or Casablanca to match your flight.

It is possible, and the 4-day tour does it, but the driving days are long. With five or six days you can add a night in Chefchaouen and a guided visit of Fes, which we recommend.
Yes, all of them. The 4-day tour stops there for a walk and lunch; the longer tours stay one or two nights.
